Postbaccalaureate TESOL Certificate Program

Tuition and Fees for Summer 2001

The following rates are for TESOL students only. Columbia, Barnard, and Visiting Students should refer to Summer Session for appropriate rates.

Tuition and fees are subject to change at any time at the discretion of the Trustees.

Tuition

  1. Tuition per point for TESOL courses: $394

  2. Tuition per point for ESL courses (if needed): $394

  3. Tuition per point for all other Summer Session courses: $690

    [The per-point charge for credit courses in the 2000 Summer Session for students who were not Columbia or Barnard students was $690. The Summer 2001 rate will be announced February 2001.]

Fees

The fees listed below are for the 2000 Summer Session. Any changes in fees for 2001 will be announced in February 2001.

  1. University facilities fee (per term; required)
    Full-time students (those registered for 12 or more points): $34
    Part-time students $19

  2. Application fee (one-time payment; required): $35

  3. Transcript fee (one-time payment; required): $45

  4. International Services charge: $50

    [Required of all international students holding a nonresident visa.]

  5. Estimated Health Service fee: $120

Estimate of Program Expenses for Full Program for International Students, Summer 2001

  1. Application fee: $35

  2. Tuition (18 points): $7,092

  3. Health Service fee: $120

  4. University Facilities fee: $34

  5. Transcript fee: $45

  6. International Services charge: $50

  7. Housing (two months): $1,160–$1,770

  8. Food and Transportation (two months) $1,300

  9. Books, Materials, Computer fees: $300

    TOTAL: $10,136–$10,746

Depending on their individual situations, students may also be required to pay the following fees:

  1. Withdrawal fee (incurred for each student who chooses to withdraw once registered, even if withdrawal takes place during the registration period) $75

  2. Late registration fees (see calendar for dates and deadlines)

  3. Health service fee (optional)

    Dependent Coverage

    Eligible students who enroll in the medical insurance plan may enroll their eligible dependents in the Basic Plan.

    Eligible dependents include:

    • The insured student’s lawful spouse/same-sex partner residing with the student;

    • The insured student’s unmarried children (including stepchildren and foster children) under the age of 19.

    Information and enrollment forms for dependents will be available after July 1, 2000, at Health Services or through Chickering Claims Administrators, Inc., (800) 859-8471.
