Information for Employees Who Do Not Currently Hold a Bachelor's Degree

If you are currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at a school other than Columbia, but have not yet fulfilled your degree requirements, you may be eligible to apply for nondegree study at Columbia as a Visiting Student in the Special Students Program.

Special Students Program

If you are not currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, please read the following carefully:

Employees who do not hold a bachelor's degree and who are interested in pursuing study in the Arts and Sciences should contact the School of General Studies to find out about the possibility of applying for admission to an undergraduate degree program at Columbia.

School of General Studies

In extremely rare instances, it may be possible for an individual who does not hold a bachelor's degree to be admitted through Continuing Education and Special Programs' Special Students Program to take Arts and Sciences courses for credit as an Undergraduate Nondegree student. Admission into this student category is extremely selective and is limited to students who are in very specific situations that prevent them from applying to a degree program at Columbia.

Plan Your Schedule

Other Eligible Programs

The programs listed below do not require a bachelor's degree for admission.

Employees should note that courses taken on a noncredit basis usually do not qualify for tuition exemption, though 75% tuition exemption is now available to a limited number of employees for both the CTA and AITM programs. Please consult Human Resources for tuition exemption eligibility.
