Member Students and Visiting Students
BCGS member students are students who attend one of the following schools:
- Barnard College / Columbia University
- University of Chicago
- Cornell University
- Johns Hopkins University

- Princeton University
- University of Pennsylvania
- Vassar College
- Yale University
|
Visiting students are students who attend a college or university
other than those listed above.

BCGS Program Prerequisites
- You are required to be in good academic and disciplinary standing
as a bachelor's degree candidate at an accredited undergraduate college.
- You are required to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0
or better.
- You are required to have studied at least two years, preferably
more, of college-level German or the equivalent.
Materials
To apply, please submit the following materials:
- Completed application for admission, by mail or online
- Statement of purpose in German (200300 words explaining why
you wish to attend the BCGS)
- Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended
- Dean/Advisor letter of recommendation
- German language recommendation form
- Nonrefundable application fee of $35 in the form of check or money
order made payable to Columbia University (for visiting students only)
BCGS member students should submit applications to their home schools.
