Repository

Manuscript level: Repositories

Description: Repository is the descriptive name associated with a particular RepositoryCode within an Institution. Repositories typically identify the collection, library, or other unit housing the contributed materials. Repository is not required and is in some cases omitted, particularly in the case of an institution having only a single Repository, wherein the Institution name is synonymous with the Repository.

Technical Description: Repository is a non-unique field allowing up to 255 characters of any kind, and is editable by users via the appplication. Changes to Repository are reflected in all Manuscripts associated with that Repository.

Notes: A single instance of DS-Access can manage the holdings of multiple repositories. If a single institution maintains multiple instances of DS-Access on separate machines, a particular Repository should appear in only one instance, although its parent Institution would appear in all instances.
