Importing columns using the Position method

Use the Columns page of the Import notebook with the Position (method P) radio button selected to import columns from the input file to the target table using the position of the column as the mapping method.

Before you begin...

To import columns using the position method:

1. Open the Import notebook, specify options on the File page, and open the Columns page.

2. Click on the Position radio button in the Include columns by box.

3. Select a column in the Table column box.

4. Click on the Change push button and change the column values.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for every column.

6. Click on OK. The import process begins.
