Importing a file into a table

Use the Import notebook to insert data from an input file into the table you selected. If the table receiving the imported data already contains data, you can replace or add to the existing data with the data in the file.

You can also use the Import notebook to create a new table that is populated by an input file, or delete existing rows in the selected table and repopulate it using data from the input file.

To import a file:

  1. Open the Import notebook.

  2. Specify file options.

  3. Optional: Click on the Large Objects tab to specify that you want to retrieve large objects in separate files.

  4. Optional: Click on the Columns tab and specify column options.

  5. Click on OK to begin the import process.
