Granting and revoking index privileges for users

Use the User page of the index Privileges notebook to grant and revoke user privileges for an index. The only privilege available for indexes is CONTROL.

Before you begin...

To grant or revoke the CONTROL privilege for users on an index:

1. Open the Privileges notebook for indexes.

2. If you are not already on the User page, click on the User tab.

3. List the user names for which you want to grant privileges in the User box:

   1. Click on Add User. The Add User window opens.

   2. Type a user name or select the user names that you want to grant CONTROL privilege to.

   3. Click on the Add push button. The users that you selected are added to the User box on the User page.

   4. Click on the Close push button to close the Add User window.

4. Select the users you want to work with from the User box.

5. To grant or revoke the CONTROL privilege for the selected users, click on the Grant All or Revoke All push button. The CONTROL field updates to Yes or No to indicate privilege status.

6. Click on the Apply push button to apply the changes you made in the Privileges window.

7. Click on the Close button to return to the Control Center.
