  • Applicants are admitted for the fall, spring, and summer terms.

  • Candidates are encouraged to apply early because enrollment is limited and applications are considered in the order in which they are received.

  • Highly qualified candidates are accepted on an early-decision basis.

  • Qualified candidates who wait until the last minute risk being deferred to a later term due to lack of space.

  • Consideration of late applications is subject to availability of space.

Application Materials

Advanced Information Technology Management

  1. Completed application form, by mail or online, with "Advanced Information Technology Management Program" selected under Section 2.

  2. Official transcripts of your academic record.

  3. Personal statement (500-750 words) explaining your motivation for enrolling in the program and describe your expertise as a technical analyst, software developer, database designer, and/or network administrator. In addition to technical expertise in one of these areas, all applicants are expected to demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of computer programming and communications software, mastery of PC software and hardware, and a working knowledge of Office Suite software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Computer Technology and Applications

  1. Completed application form, by mail or online, with "Computer Technology and Applications Program" and your track of choice selected under Section 2

  2. A typed 350-500 word statement describing your personal and educational background, work experience, career goals and objectives, and reasons for applying to the program. Include your previous experience with computers, detailing specific systems and software applications, to demonstrate suitability for your program of choice. Personal statements that display substandard communications or presentation skills may be returned and could adversely affect your chances of admission to the program.

  3. Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended. As soon as you apply to the CTA Program, have your transcripts sent to the Admissions and Student Affairs Office. If you currently have an unofficial student copy of your transcript(s), please include it (them) with your application form. Applicants with documents in foreign languages should refer to the instructions listed under International Students and Non-native Speakers of English.

  4. One letter of recommendation (CTA Program II applicants only).

  5. Results of the placement examination: candidates for the CTA Program are required to take a placement examination. This test examines knowledge of basic terminology, elementary operating systems functions, and applications concepts. It also evaluates aptitude for processing abstract rules, especially important for students in programming and software development tracks. Mathematics is neither tested nor required. Applicants must call the Admissions and Student Affairs Office to reserve a seat for a placement exam only after they have submitted their application.
