Course Availability

  • Courses marked "Open to auditors" are available to Auditors and Lifelong Learners. The dates and times of the class meetings are listed in each course description.

  • In summer courses, the number of auditors per course is limited to five; no exceptions will be made.

  • Courses in languages, applied music and art, speech, and writing; any course designated as a workshop, seminar, or colloquium; mathematics and science courses; and courses above the 4000 level are not open to auditors, even if the instructor gives permission.

  • Enrollment in specific courses as an auditor cannot be considered firm until the second week of each term, as students taking courses for credit to fulfill degree requirements are given priority.

  • Courses are subject to last-minute departmental changes (e.g., meeting times and days) and cancellations—consult the Directory of Classes for up-to-date information.
