Creating a command script

You can use the New Command Script window to create a command script.

Before you begin...

To create a command script:

1. Open the Script Center window.

2. Select an entry from the System name box.

3. Select either of the following:

   • Script->New from the menu selections to enter new commands. The New Command Script window opens. Type the commands that will make up your script, separated by semicolons.

     Note:

     The default statement termination character is the carriage return. You can, however, select the Use statement termination character check box on the General page of the Tools Settings notebook, and specify a different termination character. If you select this check box and do not specify a termination character, the default termination character is the semicolon. Termination characters are valid only for DB2 scripts.

   • Script->Import from the menu selections to create a new command script from an existing file. The File Browser window opens.

     1. Use the File Browser window to specify the file that you want to import.

     2. When you are finished, click on the OK push button. The New Command Script window opens, and shows the contents of the imported file.

4. Select a DB2 instance, and type a script name, a brief script description, and the name of the working directory in the associated fields.

5. Select one of the script type radio buttons.

6. When you are finished, click on the OK push button.
