Configuring a database

Use the Configure Database notebook to view and change database configuration parameters.

For help with the Page controls, select the Overview button to return to the Notebook Overview, then select the notebook page you want from the Page controls section.

To configure a database or database partition:

  1. To configure a database or database partition:

  2. To change a specific configuration parameter, select the parameter you want to change from the parameters section of the notebook page.

  3. Enter the value for the selected parameter in the Value area of the notebook page. The Value area contains a combination of entry fields, check boxes and radio buttons that change depending on the parameter selected.

  4. Graphic denoting partitioned database environments appears here. To view the configuration parameters for a specific database partition, highlight a database partition from the Database partition list. The notebook is updated to show the configuration information for the highlighted database partition, however if any changes are made to the configuration parameters, the configuration information for all the database partitions in the Database partition list are changed (not just the one that is currently displayed).

  5. Optional: Continue selecting and changing parameters until you have made all your changes.

  6. Select OK to save your changes to the configuration parameters and close the notebook.
