Leaving the database in the roll-forward pending state

Graphic denoting single-partition database environments appears here. Use the Roll-Forward page of the Create Database from Backup notebook to specify that you want to leave the database in the roll-forward pending state at the end of the create database operation.

To perform roll-forward recovery on the database:

  1. Open the Create from Backup notebook.

  2. On the Description page:

    1. Type the name of the database that you want to create in the New database name field.

    2. Type the drive on which the database is to reside in the Default drive field. (For UNIX-based systems, this field is called Default directory.)

    3. Type an alias for the database in the Alias field.

    4. Type a comment for the database in the Comment field.

  3. On the Backup Image page, click on the Select push button to locate a database for which you have already created a backup.

  4. On the Backup Image page, specify the backup image that you want to use to restore the database:

  5. On the Roll-Forward page, ensure that the Leave in roll-forward pending state check box is selected.

  6. Click on OK to create the database.
