Modifying containers

To modify containers:

  1. Open the Create from Backup notebook.

  2. On the Description page:

    1. Type the name of the database that you want to create in the New database name field.

    2. Type the drive on which the database is to reside in the Default drive field. (For UNIX-based systems, this field is called Default directory.)

    3. Type an alias for the database in the Alias field.

    4. Type a comment for the database in the Comment field.

  3. On the Backup Image page, click on the Select push button to locate a database for which you have already created a backup.

  4. On the Backup Image page, specify the backup image that you want to use to restore the database:

  5. On the Containers page, click on Redirect table space containers, then click on one or more of the following to specify the type of container modification that you want to perform during roll-forward recovery:

  6. On the Roll-Forward page, clear the Leave in roll-forward pending state check box. This makes the database usable immediately after the create operation. (By default, this button is on).

  7. Click on OK to create the database.
