Backing up a database or a database partition

Use the Backup page of the backup notebook to create a backup image that can be used to restore the database or database partition.

To back up the database or database partition:

  1. Open the backup notebook:

  2. On the Backup page, specify the type of backup that you want to create by using the Backup To fields. The backup can be one of the following types:

  3. On the Options page, select one of the following Process while radio buttons:

  4. If you want to schedule the backup operation, click on Schedule. The Schedule window opens, in which you can schedule the operation.

  5. If you want to create a job script of the backup operation, click on Save Script. The Save Script window opens, in which you can save the backup job as a script. You can use this script for performing backups in the future.

  6. Click on Backup Now to start the backup.
