BCGS Program Prerequisites

1. You are required to be in good academic and disciplinary standing as a bachelor's degree candidate at an accredited undergraduate college.

2. You are required to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

3. You are required to have studied at least two years, preferably more, of college-level German or the equivalent.

Application Materials

To apply, please submit the following materials:

1. Completed application for admission, by mail (select here) or online (select here)

2. Statement of purpose in German (200-300 words explaining why you wish to attend the BCGS)

3. Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions attended

4. Dean/Advisor letter of recommendation (select here)

5. German language recommendation form (select here)

6. Nonrefundable application fee of $35 in the form of check or money order made payable to Columbia University (for visiting students only)
