American Language Program
The Winter Institute
Four-week intensive English-language course offered in January.
- This program provides 16 hours of class and four hours of language laboratory
per week.
- Classes are organized at several levels of English proficiency:
- Beginning
- Low Intermediate
- Intermediate
- Advanced
- Each student has full opportunity to participate in classwork and to receive
individual attention.
- Course work at all levels is designed to develop:
- grammatical skills
- fluency
- listening and reading comprehension
- writing ability
- In addition to regular classes, student opportunities include:
- organized field trips
- social activities
- special guest lecture (for advanced students)
- Students may come for the Winter Institute only or combine it with the
preceding or following academic semester.
- New students must take the English Placement Test at registration.
