Barnard College Summer Housing

Barnard College summer housing is available for American Language Program (ALP) students studying full-time in the Summer Institute. Students must be concurrently registered in and attending a full-time ALP class to qualify for Barnard housing.

The Rooms

Housing availability varies from summer to summer. In general, availability is limited, and students are encouraged to apply early.

  1. Suite-style housing has a shared kitchen and bathroom.

  2. Corridor-style housing does not have kitchen access. Each floor has a shared bathroom.

    Air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned single and double rooms are available in corridor-style housing. Air-conditioned rooms are very limited.

All residents must supply their own kitchen and toilet articles.

Students may either bring their own linens or rent them for the duration of their stay.

Students must check out by 12 noon on the Saturday of their last session.

Cost

2001 prices range from $590 to $885 per session.

An application fee and housing prepayment in the form of a credit card, check, or money order must be made out to Barnard College and mailed with the application.

  • This deposit will not be refunded for any reason.
  • The entire housing fee (minus the housing prepayment) must be paid upon arrival.
  • Credit cards, traveler's checks, cash, money orders and checks drawn from a U.S. bank are accepted.
