Turnitin

Turnitin, a web-based learning tool to prevent and detect plagiarism, is available to Social Work faculty and students. To access Turnitin, login to:

http://turnitin.com

Once you are a registered Turnitin "user" you will be able to submit an electronic copy of your paper to the Turnitin database. Once the paper is submitted, it will compare your paper to content in three primary databases:

Turnitin will produce an "originality" report which includes an indication of the proportion of your paper that has exactly matched content from another source.

Students new to the Columbia University School of Social Work will receive an email directly from Turnitin with their login and password sometime before the end of the registration add/drop period. If the add/drop period has ended and you still have not received an email from Turnitin notify [email protected]. If you are a continuing student and forgot your Turnitin password, on the Sign in screen click "Retrieve passw ord." It will be emailed to your Columbia University email account.

Disability-Related Academic Accommodations

In order to receive disability-related academic accommodations, students must first be registered with the Office of Disability Services (ODS). More information on the ODS registration process is available online at www.health.columbia.edu/ods. Please allow for at least two weeks to complete the ODS registration process. Students are encouraged to contact ODS at the start of the semester.

Students who have, or think they may have, a disability are invited to contact ODS for a confidential discussion at 212.854.2388 (V) 212.854.2378 (TTY), or by email at [email protected]. If you have already registered with ODS and would like your professor(s) notified of your recommended accommodations, contact Karma Lowe ([email protected]), who serves as the ODS liaison to the School of Social Work.
