Specifying options for importing ASC data

Use the Import ASC File Type Modifiers window to specify options for importing nondelimited ASCII (ASC) data.

To specify options for ASC data:

1. Optional: Select any of the file type modifiers that you want to use:

   • Do not recognize character x'1A' as the end-of-file character (NOEOFCHAR)

   • Truncate trailing blank spaces when loading into variable-length database field (STRIPTBLANKS)

   • Truncate trailing nulls (0x00 characters) when loading into variable-length database field (STRIPTNULLS)

2. Optional: In the Record length in characters box, specify the number of characters to read for each row.

3. Click on OK to return to the File page.
