Creating a new database with default settings

Use the Database Name page of the Create Database SmartGuide to specify a name and drive or directory for the database you are creating.

To create a new database:

  1. Open the Create Database SmartGuide

  2. Type a name in the New database name field.

  3. For OS/2, Windows NT, and Windows 95, select an item from the Default drive list. For UNIX, you can override the Default directory that is displayed, or click on the Browse button and select the desired directory. The database files will be stored there.

  4. Click on Done to create the database using the default options.
