Performing a simple restore

Use the Backup Image page of the restore notebook to specify the backup image that you want to use to restore the database or database partition.
Note: Graphic denoting partitioned database environments appears here. In a partitioned database environment, you restore at the database partition level.

To restore the database or database partition without any options:

  1. Open the restore notebook:

  2. On the Backup Image page, specify the backup image that you want to use for the restore operation:

  3. On the Roll-Forward page, clear the Leave in roll-forward pending state check box. This makes the database or database partition usable immediately after the restore operation. (By default, this check box is on).
    Note:If the backup image was taken online, the database or database partition will be in the roll-forward pending state. You will have to roll forward the database to make it usable.

  4. Click on OK to begin the restore operation.
