Leaving the database or database partition in the roll-forward pending state

Use the Roll-Forward page of the roll-forward notebook to specify that you want to leave the database or database partition in the roll-forward pending state at the end of the roll-forward operation.
Note:Before you can do forward recovery, the database object must already be in the roll-forward pending state (which you can specify when you restore the database or database partition), and you must have the database logs.

To leave the database or database partition in the roll-forward pending state:

  1. Open the roll-forward notebook:

  2. On the Roll-Forward page, specify the type of roll-forward recovery that you want:

  3. To leave the database or database partition in the roll-forward pending state, ensure that the Leave in roll-forward pending state check box is selected.

  4. On the Options page, select one of the Process while radio buttons, either Online or Offline. Offline is the default.

  5. Click on OK to begin the roll-forward process.
