Database alias

A database alias is an alternate name for a database. Enter the database alias you want to use in the Alias field. If an alias is not entered, the alias will be the same as the database name. The alias:

• Can contain from 1 to 8 characters
• Must begin with one of the following:
  • A through Z (converts lowercase letters to uppercase)
  • @, #, or $
• Can include these other characters:
  • A through Z (converts lowercase letters to uppercase)
  • 0 through 9
  • @, #, $, and _ (underscore)
