A database alias is an alternate name for a
database. Enter the database alias you want to use in the
Alias field. If an alias is not entered, the alias will be
the same as the database name. The alias:
- Can contain from 1 to 8 characters
- Must begin with one of the following:
- A through Z (converts lowercase letters to uppercase)
- @, #, or $
- Can include these other characters:
- A through Z (converts lowercase letters to uppercase)
- 0 through 9
- @, #, $, and _ (underscore)
