Displaying an access plan graph

Before you can view an access plan graph, an explain snapshot must exist (that is, one whose entry in the Explain Snapshot column is "Yes").

There are five ways to display an access plan graph:

• Go to the Explain SQL Statement window and dynamically explain an SQL statement.

• Go to the Explained Statements History window and choose from a list of previously explained SQL statements.

• Go to the Explainable Statements window and choose from a list of explainable statements in a package.

• Use the Command Center to create an access plan, which can be viewed on the Access Plan page of the Command Center notebook.

• Invoke the db2vexp command from the DB2 CLP prompt to generate an access plan graph for a dynamic SQL statement. For information about how to use this command, enter db2vexp -h on the command line, or see the Command Reference.
