Select one of the following radio buttons to specify whether the backup operation is to be done online or offline.

Note:

You can only back up a table space or table space partition if the database or database partition is already configured for forward recovery (that is, either the userexit or logretain database configuration parameter, or both, is set on), and a full offline backup of the database or database partition has already been taken.

Offline

The backup operation occurs offline (that is, no other application or user can be connected to the table space or table space partition when the backup is in progress). This is the default.

Online

The backup operation occurs online (that is, other applications and users can be connected to the table space or table space partition when the backup is in progress).
