Separate index space

Optional: Select this check box to specify a table space in which to create any indexes on the table. Indexes can be stored in a different table space than the table itself. A separate index table space can improve performance for very large tables.

If you select this check box, use one of these methods to specify the table space that you want in the box:

• Click on the down arrow to display a list of existing, REGULAR DMS table spaces and select one.

• Type the name of an existing, REGULAR DMS table space in the box.

This check box and box are available only if both:

• You specified a table space other than the default in the Table space box

• At least one REGULAR DMS table space exists in the database

If no REGULAR DMS table spaces exist in the database, you can use the Create push button to create one.

If you do not specify a separate index space, the indexes will be created in the same table space as the table.
