RUPTURED AORTIC
ANEURYSM
• AAA is abnormal dilation of abdominal
aorta forming aneurysm that may rupture
and cause exsanguination into peritoneum
• More frequent in elderly
• Sudden onset of excrutiating pain may be
felt in chest or abdomen and may radiate to
legs and back
