Serotonergic Activity is Related to
Aggression/Impulsivity and Suicidal
Behavior
• There is a trait deficiency of serotonin function
proportional to seriousness of suicidal acts that predicts
future suicide.
• Low serotonin is proportional to seriousness of externally
directed aggression and can predict future aggression.
• Low serotonin function modulates the intent and
impulsive aspects of the suicidal behavior predisposition.
