Course Description

International Economics examines how countries are interconnected through trade, investment, labor mobility, capital flows, and financial markets. The course introduces major theories of international trade and international macroeconomics and applies them to contemporary economic issues. Topics include comparative advantage, trade and income distribution, migration and foreign direct investment, trade policy, exchange rates, balance of payments, international capital flows, financial crises, and global economic institutions.  Prerequisite: ECON 1003BC Intro to Economic Reasoning or equivalent.
