Research in Progress: Disease & Therapeu

This course is intended to help students give well-constructed, succinct and informative talks about their work to a broad audience. That is a skill which will remain important all through life, independent of career chosen.

Training is provided in two ways. In the month when you present, you get constructive critiques of your talk from a broad, supportive audience of fellow registered students as well as other students and faculty.

Equally importantly, in the months when you are not presenting, you train to engage with and give constructive critiques of your colleagues’ talks, which supports your colleagues. Listening and critiquing with intentionality is a powerful way of developing an intuition for what makes a good talk. In addition, asking questions and engaging in the research is part of your broad scientific training.

The course runs over two semesters. You will present in only one semester but are expected to participate actively in both. This is a required course for D&T students to enroll in during their 3rd-5th years.
