Scone Foundation Partners with Columbia to Announce Archivist of the Year for 2008

Conrad Crane, director of the Military History Institute at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, has been named Archivist of the Year for 2008.  

Columbia and Apollo Theater Foundation to Create Oral History of the World-Famous Venue

Columbia University's Oral History Research Office has joined with the Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. to document and preserve the vibrant history of Harlem's Apollo Theater and its surrounding neighborhood.  

Columbia Names New Director of Institute for Latin American Studies

Columbia University has announced the appointment of Pablo Piccato, associate professor of history, to lead the Institute on Latin American Studies at the School of International and Public Affairs. Piccato is a distinguished historian of Mexico with a focus on the modern intersection of crime, politics and culture. He will lead the center through July 2011.
